Operation:
Pull it out of the top and tie a knot, pushing that into your Diaper Pail. When the canister is full, you use the internal "cutter" to cut the plastic at that point and tie a knot in the top.
Completely contained diapers ready to go out with your trash! Then you tie another knot in the plastic that remains in the Genie to create a new empty trash bag, ready to take more diapers.

Note:When you first open a refill, it's a little hard to find the end of the plastic bag and pull it out, but you'll get it.
It is not necessary to twist the refill to "seal" the bag over dirty diaper. When go to empty the Diaper Pail, end up with diapers individually wrapped like sausages and then it unwraps to reveal that wasted a lot of the plastic bag refill. The Diaper Pail, itself will cover the smell. If it's that bad, just cut the bag and tie it.
